October is a month of Soltice and our fellow Lord of the Rings Online friends take time to entertain the masses.

Turbine, Inc. and Codemasters would like to give a heads up warning about some suspicious activity in game via in game emails and tells.

ALERT: Notification of Suspicious Activity

We have been made aware of suspicious account requests via in game email and tells. These requests are very convincing and provide links to a site that has cloned the appearance of the lotro.com website. All players should be aware that this is not a valid site and is in no way associated with Turbine.

Example email/Tell:
“Becasuse you suspected of lllegal trade for gold, system will freeze your ID after one hour.If you have any questions, please login (URL) to make a complaint .We will be processing as soon as possible.Thank you for your understanding!”

Please be aware that all ingame contacts from a Turbine employee will have a '+' before their name. For example: +Sapience.

We are currently investigating reports and will take appropriate actions.

As well, be aware of phishing email scams. I personally just recieved an email phishing letter at an email address that I had never registered with Blizzard, telling me I need to click on a link to secure my World of Warcraft account...

The Lord of the Rings Online has shown the spotlight upon a Character of Middle-earth named "Aarnikka" last week.

"The Earth-kin of Lehmä-koti rely heavily upon silk for many things, such as clothing, bandages, and rope, and that silk is often procured from spiders. The weaver Aarnikka is tasked with acquiring and preparing this spider-silk for use."

Codemasters for The Lord of the Rings Online's European Servers has announced that the Spring Festival begins today in the European Middle-earth Servers! The Spring Festival is scheduled to run from the 3rd of April until the 17th of April, 2009. There are many festivities to partake in from drinking with the Tavern League, to roaming the regions picking flowers, to racial dance moves and even fence running among other fun min-quests. Just head to the Festival Grounds in the home lands to find the Spring Fever!

Unfortunately, something is amiss with the Horse Races that caused both Turbine and Codemasters to shut down the Horse Races this Festival.  With all the other activities, this isn't too much of a disappointment at all!
