thaurlach144x144TGN Episode 9 of the podcast is a special episode as I get the chance to talk with Rowan about the Echoes of the Dead update coming next week.  It certainly was a good chat as I was able to get a feel for why Turbine did some of the things they did and there were a number of things that they’re going to check into.

    Nice interview im glad about the questiong you asked. It seems like everytime somone who has a podcast interviews a Turbine worker they kiss ass like crazy and dont ask questions about the stuff they irk about on their podcast.
    And Aaron says best case senario it will take A MONTH to get a raid set? Seriously? That right there makes me not even want to do it. Turbine always talks about and prides themselves(rightfully so) that they do things and implement things for ALL players. Well why cant i grind out instance after instance to get the tokens all day if i want to? Why cant i do all the new instances 3 times a day and get the tokens? I think the 2 times a week thing for tokens is a crock. They say well look at the other raids, but yea the other raids they do have 2x a week locks are for a SINGLE PIECE THAT DROPS!!!! No one does the turtle or the watcher for the few moria medallions it drops. Please Turbine I love you and LOTRO but thats for a lack of a better word retarded.

      As for the raid set, I think the idea behind his comments were that the Medallions of the North-men weren’t going to be the limiting factor in getting the armor sets if you routinely run the various content instances. Which if you think of it that way, you still would be getting the same amount of pieces as you raid – but it still is a very valid argument.

      I don’t like the locks either as it seems artificial but I’m waiting to see how it actually works out.

      And of course the other thing to consider is that I know I’m not the typical player or even the typical end-game player so my thoughts are very much in the minority. Still valuable but not a majority by any stretch of the imagination :)
